Structure Clearance Starts for Hetauda Highway Expansion

Demolition of physical structures within the road boundary has begun for the expansion of the main road in Hetauda, the capital of Bagmati Province in Central Nepal.
The Road Division Office, Hetauda started breaking the structures early this morning using a JCB machine to widen the main bazaar area.
Guru Prasad Adhikari of the Road Division Office, Hetauda, said the removal of physical structures in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-10, Rapti Road has commenced.
The office had issued a public notice on November 21 instructing the removal of permanent and temporary structures built within 2.86 meters on each side from the midpoint of the road, from Raatamate to Budhachowk along the East-West Highway and from Buddhachowk to Samari Bridge along the Tribhuvan Highway, within 15 days.
Local residents and business owners have taken to the streets demanding compensation and reimbursement.
