Zelensky Ready to Work With US on Peace Vision

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he is prepared to work with the United States on its “vision” for ending the war with Russia, after a leaked draft peace proposal suggested Kyiv could face sweeping concessions.

The document, reportedly crafted in meetings between US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriev, outlines expectations that Ukraine relinquish remaining territory it controls in parts of the Donbas, limit its army to 600,000 personnel, and forgo NATO membership.

The White House has pushed back on claims Kyiv was excluded, insisting Ukraine was consulted, though some Ukrainian officials say they were only involved later.

The leak comes as Zelensky confronts a $100 million corruption scandal at home and Russia reports small gains in the east. European governments, not included in the talks, have expressed concern over the plan’s pro-Moscow tone.

Zelensky said he expects to speak with President Trump in the coming days, adding that Ukraine seeks “real peace, one that will not be broken by a third invasion.” Agencies
