Avalanche Kills at Least Three People in Dolakha

Three persons including two Nepali guides have been killed after an avalanche that struck along the border of Na village and Elung Ri region of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality in Dolakha district of central Nepal.
Our correspondent Bhim Shankar Chaulagain quoting police said eight others remain missing in the incident.
The identity of the third person, presumed to be a foreign national, has not been ascertained yet.

According to the Chief of Dolakha Police, the avalanche occurred at around 10:30 am this morning when a group of 15 trekkers were heading from Na village toward Dolma Thaang Peak, situated at an altitude of 6,333 meters.
Four persons have been injured and seven others who were caught in the avalanche have since come into contact.
Police says search and rescue operations are ongoing with efforts underway to locate the missing tourists using helicopters despite inclement weather.
