Nepal Edge Past India in Penalty Thriller at Sikkim Friendly

Nepal’s women’s football team triumphed over India 3–0 in a penalty shootout on Wednesday, sealing victory in a tense international friendly “charity match” at Palzor Stadium in Sikkim.
After a 1–1 draw in regulation time, Nepal’s Sabita Ranamagar, Rashmi Kumari Ghising, and Nisha Thokar converted their spot-kicks with precision.
Goalkeeper Anjana Ranamagar emerged as the match hero, saving India’s first and third penalties, while the hosts’ second attempt went off target.

Earlier, both teams traded goals in the first half — Soumya Guguloth put India ahead in the 30th minute, before Anita Basnet equalized for Nepal in extra time of the opening half.
The result marks a morale-boosting win for Nepal as the team builds momentum ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
