Undefeated Nepal Wins Title of T20 World Cup Qualifier

Nepal won the title of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and East-Asia Pacific Qualifier, remaining undefeated after beating Samoa by 124 runs in the last league match at Al Amerat, Oman, on Thursday.

Chasing a target of 212 runs, Samoa managed 87 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Samoa’s Solia was the top scorer with 40 runs.

Nepal’s Lalit Rajbanshi took three wickets while Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Rohit Poudel claimed one wicket each.

After losing the toss, Nepal were sent in to bat and posted 211 runs in the allotted 20 overs for 4 wickets. Aasif Sheikh and Dipendra Singh Airee both scored half-centuries.

Sheikh, who scored his career-best 79 runs, was adjudged the player of the match.
