Coordination Committee Meeting of the 14th South Asian Games

A coordination committee meeting of the 14th South Asian Games (SAG) member countries was held today in Nagoya on the sidelines of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, President of the Nepal Olympic Committee and Head of the SAG Coordination Committee.
Mr. Khalid, Secretary General of the South Asian Olympic Council (SAOC) and the National Olympic Committee of Pakistan, briefed the committee on the preparations for the upcoming Games. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to hosting the 14th South Asian Games on schedule from April 3–11, 2027, with preparations currently underway.

President Shrestha emphasized the importance of conducting the South Asian Games on their regular cycle and strengthening the SAG as an important pathway towards the Asian Games.

The committee discussed key preparations, including the Games preparation timeframe, sports entry deadlines, and the Chef de Mission meeting. Members expressed their commitment to working collectively for the successful and timely organization of the 14th South Asian Games.

The committee also appreciated and thanked the National Olympic Committee of Pakistan for its ongoing preparations and efforts towards hosting the Games.
