World Tourism Day Being Observed with Various Programmes

The 47th World Tourism Day has been observed by organising various events across the country today. The Day is marked on September 27 every year. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation collaborated with the United Nations Tourism and the Nepal Tourism Board for an event.

A programme has been organised at Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management under the slogan, ‘Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism’, according to Spokesperson at the Ministry, Jay Narayan Acharya.

A cycle rally was held by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Labour and Transport of Bagmati Province to mark the World Tourism Day. The rally begun from Patan Durbar Square reached Hotel Smart Dhumbarahi via Pulchowk, Kupandole, Maitighar, Jay Nepal, Naxal and Narayan Gopal Chowk, according to an officer at the Ministry, Ambika Ghimire.

Tourism Minister of Bagmati Province, Rajendra Prajapati, also attended the programme. Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents organised the ‘NATTA Heritage Run-2026’ today from Basantapur Durbar Square. The programme was held with an objective of linking historical and cultural heritages of Kathmandu and Lalitpur.

NATTA president Bharat Jung Pandey stated that the event begun from Basantapur reached Patan Durbar area, passing through Bishal Bazaar, New Road Gate, Shahid Gate and Labim Mall. Tourism entrepreneurs, representatives of different organisations and youths participated in the near six-km race, added NATTA. (RSS)
