Temporary ‘Log Bridge’ and ‘Tuin’ Installed Over Phalakhu and Bhotekoshi River

A temporary log bridge and a tuin (cable bridge) have been set up over the Phalakhu and Bhotekoshi rivers in the Rasuwa-Nuwakot road section.

This comes after the concrete bridges over both rivers were destroyed by Bhotekoshi flooding, making the road impassable. Superintendent of Police Tul Bahadur Bhandari from the Armed Police Force shared that these alternative structures have been put in place to ensure people can move around more easily.

To start, a bamboo and wood bridge has been built in Betravati for foot traffic, while an iron wire bridge, known as a tuin, has been installed in Syafrubensi. Although the tuin is ready, work is still ongoing to finalize the right and left footpaths, which should be completed in just a few days.

Province Assembly member Indra Prasad Gotame noted that with the bridge in Betravati finished, traveling from Nuwakot through Gerkhu, Chapatar, and Keraghari to Betrawati has become easier.

Social worker Ganesh Shrestha highlighted that the log bridge construction received support from the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and local community members. Thanks to these efforts, residents from Gatlang, Golzung, Chilime, Thuman, Syo, Gray, and other northern Rasuwa areas now have an easier route through Syafrubensi. (RSS)
