People Stranded in Dhunche Being Rescued through Surface Routes

Rescue of the people who have been stranded after flash floods in Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on last Wednesday has begun through surface routes as well. 

The Bagmati Province government has stepped up its preparation to bring pilgrims, tourists, and the general public stuck in Dhunche to the Kathmandu Valley using alternate routes. 

“We have arranged food for the general public stuck in Dhunche. After feeding them, we bring them to Mahabir by vehicle, and from there they need to walk around an hour to Chaugati and we take them to Kathmandu from there again by vehicle,” said Bagmati province government Chief Minister Kiran Thapa Magar. 

He noted that the provincial government has arranged free buses for stranded travelers awaiting rescue so they can reach Kathmandu. 

The provincial government has also arranged food for the general public in Chaugati, it is informed. 

Likewise, the Bagmati Province government is working to repair the Mid-Hill Highway in the Trishuli area, which has remained blocked, to resume transportation.

After the road becomes operational, it has been reported that the general public from Rasuwa and other affected areas can alternatively use the same route to come to Kathmandu. (RSS)
