Rasuwa Foods: 538 Bodies Recovered So Far

Dead bodies of 538 people have been recovered so far in different districts affected by the Bhotekoshi flash flood, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).

As per the details about the search, rescue and relief released by the Authority as of 3:00 pm today, 12 dead bodies were recovered in Rasuwa, 37 in Nuwakot, 33 in Dhading, 46 in Gorkha, 134 in Nawalparasi (East), 27 in Nawalparasi (West), 28 in Tanahu and 121 in Chitwan. 

NDRRMA Spokesperson Shanti Mahat shared that 977 people have gone missing in the flood. Of them, 28 are from Nepal Police, 45 from Nepali Army, 13 from Armed Police Force Nepal, 15 from the customs office and four from immigration office. 

Similarly, 161 people have gone missing from Rasuwa, one from Nuwakot, 66 from Makawanpur. Likewise, 517 foreigners as well as 127 Nepalis living abroad, who came to visit Nepal, have also gone missing in the flash flood, added Authority. 

According to the NDRRMA, 73 people were injured from the flood. Of them, 43 are from Rasuwa, three from Dhading and 27 from Nuwakot. (RSS)
