Rasuwa Floods: Over 380 Tourists, Including 291 Foreigners, Missing (With List of Foreigner)

Three hundred and eighty-four tourists have gone missing due to the massive flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River today.

According to information shared by the Nepal Tourism Board, this morning’s flood left 291 foreign and 93 Nepali tourists unaccounted for.

Hikmat Singh Air, the Officiating CEO of the Tourism Board, informed that 384 tourists who went to Gosainkunda and Kailash Mansarovar through various companies have lost contact.

The Nepal Tourism Board said that tourism police, local administration, and security agencies have been deployed to check on the condition of tourists in the flood-affected areas. According to the Board, 71 people who went on tour through Samrat Tours and Travel, 17 people through Kathmandu Holiday Tours and Travel, 55 people through Leaf Holiday, 31 people via Kailash Journey, seven people through Explore Vacation, and 92 people through Trekker Society have gone out of contact.

Similarly, the Nepal Tourism Board has stated that 12 people who were visiting through Richa Tours and Travel, 27 through Fishtail Tours and Travel, 52 through Himalayan Glacier, and 20 through Alpine Eco Trek have also been missing.

The massive flood has caused major damage to the settlements, police posts, and customs office in the Timure and Syafrubesi areas.

Due to the flood, the roads and bridges connecting to the Rasuwagadhi border checkpoint have also been damaged.
