Bangaldeshi and Nepali Photo Journalists Carry Out Tree Plantation in Pokhara

The Bangladeshi journalists visiting Pokhara and the Nepali photojournalists jointly planted tree saplings at Pokhara Stadium premises.
They planted various fruit-bearing saplings as a symbol of brotherhood and friendship between Nepal and Bangladesh, according to Milan Gurung, Chairperson of the District Sports Development Committee who facilitated the tree plantation programme.
The 12-member Bangladeshi photo journalists’ team led by President of the Bangladesh Photojournalists Association AKM Mohsin and a group of Nepali photo journalists coordinated by President of National Forum of Photojournalists (NFPJ), Pradeep Raj Onta among others participated in the programme.
The initiative is also expected to further strengthen ties among photojournalists of the two countries.
On the occasion, Onta expressed his confidence that creative initiatives such as tree planting would provide further foster the 21-year-old fraternal and professional relationship between photojournalists of Nepal and Bangladesh.
It may be noted that the Bangladeshi photojournalist team had called on Pokhara Metropolitan City’s Mayor Dhanaraj Acharya on last Monday.
During the meeting, the two sides had discussed matters of mutual interests and promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries at people-to-people level.
Mayor Acharya apprised the visiting Bangladeshi media professionals that the Metropolis had been carrying out various activities to promote Pokhara’s tourism in international markets.
Acharya also sought cooperation from the visiting Bangladeshi team to promote Pokhara’s natural beauty, culture, hospitality and adventure tourism activities in Bangladesh to which, the NFPJ said, the Bangladeshi team had pledged in affirmation. (RSS)
