‘The Everest Dream’ Wins Best Documentary Award in the USA

‘The Everest Dream’, a documentary by Director and journalist Ganesh Pandey, has won the Best Documentary Film Award at the Cobb International Film Festival in Georgia, USA.

‘The Everest Dream’ was the only Nepali film selected for the festival held in Marietta, Georgia, from August 6 to 9. According to the festival’s executive director and festival director, Dr. Richard Tavenaro, ‘The Everest Dream’ won the Best Documentary Film Award in competition with films from around the world.

‘The Everest Dream’, based on the extraordinary journey of British citizens who survived brain injuries, presents the story of people struggling with life after serious brain injuries and their efforts to fulfill their dreams in life.

Some people, who were told by doctors that it would be difficult to walk, talk or return to their daily lives, did not give up and came to Nepal with the dream of reaching the Everest base camp.

Led by James Lamb of The Little Sherpa Foundation, a team of seven people, including five brain injury survivors and their families, reached the Everest base camp. This extraordinary journey was presented in a documentary by director Pandey.

Director Pandey said that the greatest achievement was to convey the message to the world that even after a brain injury people can have new dreams in their lives and also fulfill them.
