One of Nepal’s greatest festivals, Tihar, is beautifully welcomed by the First Tihar Flora Expo-2025 held in the federal capital, Kathmandu. The Expo has been organized by the Nursery Association Nepal to showcase a grand variety of flowers, fruits, agroforestry products, and nursery businesses.

The President of the Association, Ramji Prasad Timalsina, stated that the First Tihar flora expo brings small-scale farmers together, offering them opportunities to explore in diversity and present their products to international tourists, who visit Nepal during this season. Timalsina also expressed his hope that the flower business would sustain the livelihood of farmers with support and favourable policies of the government.

According to the event coordinator and Vice President of the Association, Laxmi Maharjan, the event features more than 700 varieties of nursery plants, including flowers, herbs, and related products.

The five-day expo will conclude on October 19.

Tihar, also known as the Festival of Light (Deepawali), a festival dedicated to brothers, is a special celebration of siblinghood, receiving blessings and presents from their sisters through various cultural and religious rituals. This festival is also gaining international recognition due to its unique nature of showing hope with lights and colors used in the celebration.
