HoR Meeting Scheduled for Today, Five Committees in Business

The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled for 1:00pm today.

On behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam is presenting the sixth annual report of the Commission for Indigenous Nationalities for the fiscal year, 2081/82 in the meeting.

Similarly, a discussion will be held on the motion of public importance presented by parliamentary party leader of the Nepali Congress, Bhishma Raj Angdambe.

Angdambe’s motion of public importance features identification, protection and rehabilitation of the landless, squatters and dwellers on unorganized spaces; compensation, basic health, food, and schooling to their children; and distribution of land ownership certificates.

The supporters of the proposal are Ain Bahadur Mahar, Yubraj Dulal and Aren Rai.

Five Parliamentary Committees Holding Meeting

Meanwhile, five parliamentary committees are holding meetings today.

The federal parliament secretariat stated that the parliament committees relating to finance, international relations and tourism, industry, commerce and consumers rights, public policy and state affairs were holding their meetings later today.

The Finance Committee holding its meeting at 10:00 am is dwelling on the Bill designed to amend Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058.

The discussion in principle on Tourism Bill, 2081 with the related ministry is in the schedule of the International Relations and Tourism Committee.

The meeting of the Industry, Commerce and Consumers’ Rights Committee beginning at 10:00 am is conferring on management and supply of cooking gas.

The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee that is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am is discussing the theoretical issues and make clause-wise comments on the Bill relating to reviving then provisions of Nepal Special Service Act, 2042.

Even a discussion is in schedule on report of the subcommittee relating to work procedure draft formulation.

he Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee is scheduled to hold a discussion with former chair of the Committee regarding government assurance. (RSS)
