Three Missing After Car Plunges into Sunkoshi River

Three persons have gone missing after a car fell into the Sunkoshi River following a road accident along the Mid-Hill Highway of Nepal’s Sindhuli district today.
According to the District Police Office, the accident occurred at around 11:45 am when a passenger bus travelling from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga hit a parked car from behind.
The impact sent the car nearly 50 feet off the road into the Sunkoshi River.
Police said the missing passengers have been identified as 39-year-old car driver Dil Kumar Lama of Jugal Rural Municipality-7, Sindhupalchok; 27/28-year-old excavator operator Ganesh Thapa of Golanjor Rural Municipality-1, Sindhuli; and another person whose identity and address have not yet been confirmed.
Authorities said the strong current of the Sunkoshi River has made the search difficult, but efforts to locate the missing individuals are continuing.
