Nepal Opens Complaint Window for Election Commission Nominees

Nepal’s Parliamentary Hearing Committee has invited the public to submit complaints against three nominees for the country’s Election Commission before their appointments are confirmed.
The committee has given a 10-day deadline to file complaints in either Nepali or English against Man Bahadur Karki, nominated as chief election commissioner and Rajeev Subba and Guru Prasad Wagle who have been nominated as election commissioners.
A meeting of Constitutional Council held on July 3 under chairmanship of Prime Minister Balendra Shah had decided to recommend them for the appointment.
The Committee had published this notice on July 10 for the first time.
