Nepali Embassy Holds Event on Oman-Nepal Economic Promotion

The Nepali Embassy in Oman organized a special programme on ‘economic partnership for mutual prosperity’ in a bid to promote trade, investment, tourism and employment opportunities between Nepal and Oman. 

During the event held at Crown Plaza Muscat Hotel on June 24, the Nepali Embassy shared comprehensive information on the opportunities of export from Nepal and investment avenues in Nepal, labour regulations of Oman, tourism promotion and establishment of connection between the Nepali and Omani businesspersons. 

Over 100 participants including CEOs, directors, managers and representatives of different supermarkets and companies, media persons, Nepali entrepreneurs and Nepali community members attended the event, according to the Embassy.

Nepali Ambassador to Oman, Dornath Aryal, outlined Nepal’s priority sectors for foreign investment and invited Omani investors and businesspersons to explore opportunities in Nepal. 

He said, “Nepal is strategically located between India and China, two of the world’s largest and fastest-growing economies with a combined population of about 2.8 billion. This unique geographic position gives Nepal significant potential as a bridge for trade, investment and tourism.”

A corporate and litigation lawyer Khawla Mohammed Al Sadooni made a presentation on the practical aspects of labour rules and regulations that must be followed by both workers and sponsors in Oman. 

She explained how workplace issues could be resolved through legal means and how a healthy employee-employer relationship could be maintained. 

Even a tourism promotional video was screened, showcasing Nepal’s natural beauty, cultural richness and diverse tourism offerings. 

The participants were encouraged to engage with one another and explore possible collaborations in trade, investment and tourism between Nepal and Oman. (RSS)
