788 Climbers Issued with Permits to Climb 31 Peaks this Autumn

Seven hundred and eighty-eight individuals have taken permits for climbing 31 mountain peaks in this autumn. According to information provided by the Department of Tourism, a total of 788 climbers in 91 teams have obtained permission to climb various mountains in Nepal in the autumn of 2026.
Suraj Ghimire, information officer at the Department, said that 582 men and 206 women have obtained climbing permits for 31 Himalayan peaks. The department has collected Rs 247 million 207 thousand and 601 in royalties from climbers. Among the mountains for which climbing permits have been issued, highest number of climbers has taken permit to climb Mt Manaslu (8,163 meters).
Five hundred climbers from 43 teams have taken permits for climbing this peak. The department has collected Rs 225 million 857 thousand and 189 in royalties from them. According to the department, 36 people from five teams have received climbing permits for climbing Mt Dhaulagiri-1. The department collected Rs 8 million 242 thousand and 50 in royalties from them.
Similarly, 34 climbers from three teams got permits for Himlung Himal. The department collected Rs 2 million 87 thousand and 800 in royalties from them. Similarly, 19 people from two expedition teams have received permission from the authorities to climb the Ama Dablam mountain. The department has collected Rs 2 million and 912 thousand in revenue from them.
The department has stated that permits have also been granted for climbing mountains such as Putha Hiunchuli, Danga Hiunchuli, Baruntse, Makalu, Gangapurna West (Langchenel), Thorong Peak, Norbu Khang, Annapurna IV, Chamlang, Lamjung Himal, Pumori, Saribung, Thapa Peak (Dhampus), Pokhar Khang, Ardang, and Peri.
Seven hundred and eighty-eight climbers from 70 countries have obtained climbing permits for climbing these peaks. Among those who got permits, the highest number is from China, with 118 mountaineers.
Similarly, among the 788 climbers taking permits include 65 from Russia, 60 from France, 52 from the USA, 45 from the UK, 25 from Poland, 23 from Nepal, 16 from Switzerland, 16 from Spain, 18 from India, 23 from Italy, and 25 from Japan. The department has collected a royalty of one million 627 thousand and 659 US dollars, that is, 247 million 207 thousand and 601 Nepali rupees, from the climbing permits. (RSS)
