PM Discusses Collaboration With World Bank

World Bank’s Vice President for  South Asia, Martin Raiser paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today. During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, discussions were held on the ongoing collaboration in Nepal’s economic and social development, as well as the significance of the ongoing Sagarmatha Dialogue in Kathmandu.

Prime Minister Oli praised the World Bank’s substantial support in Nepal’s economic growth, poverty alleviation, and improving the living standards of Nepali citizens. He emphasized that the government prioritizes effective management of revenue mobilization and development expenditure. He also conveyed that the upcoming budget would be structured to ensure timely completion of projects, aligning with the initiatives undertaken to boost production and productivity.

Vice President Raiser reaffirmed the World Bank’s commitment to continued cooperation and wished success to Nepal for prioritizing environmental issues through the Sagarmatha Dialogue. The World Bank has invested two million U.S. dollars across 19 sectors in Nepal, including transportation, energy, education, and health. (RSS)
